Update: We are now in the ICU. The last I knew they were telling me that he was a PCU overflow though not truly critical care. His hgb dropped from 9.9 to 8.1 in four hours. He tried to sit up earlier this morning and immediately got really dizzy and vomited. His vital signs had stabilized but since he was obviously symptomatic they decided to give him two units of blood. He was almost done with the second one when he told me he was hurting really bad again. I went over and pulled his gown up and his abdomen is really distended and rigid. Just called the doctors all again, now we are awaiting their arrival. I got about 4 hours of sleep (kind of) this morning. I really feel like I can relax and be wife- not nurse- here. We had an amazing nurse on the night shift last night and a fantastic Daisy Award nominee for a nurse today. (She was shocked when I knew what her pin went- look it up- its really something special). Im overwhelmed by all the thoughts/prayers/texts/calls weve gotten. Thank you all so much. I can honestly say, I was really scared last night. I thought he was going to code right in front of me- he was close. Being me though, today I have to wonder if maybe I should find the chaplain and apologize? I guess I might have poked the wrong bull yesterday because I think God might have been giving me a bit of the horn.
