Update during summer - TopicsExpress

Update during summer 2013. ________________________________________ What has been happening in summer 2013 and news of radio broadcast mass. I am writing on this occasion to give news of what has been happening this summer. Between June and September we will have a total of 92 students study at the school, from a total of 21 different countries (Poland, Korea, Brazil, Slovenia, Kazakhastan, Italy, Mexico, Chile, Russia, Vietnam, Argentina, Indonesia, Slovakia, Germany, Croatia, Spain, Romania, China, Libya, The Czech Republic and Peru). Currently there are classes at Beginner, Early Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Proficiency levels. A few students are preparing for the Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) and Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) examinations. Everybody is working hard but these students are making a particularly big effort. We had some extremely hot weather during July with temperatures reaching almost 30 degrees; this was very hot for Irish people but just comfortable for students from countries with hotter climates. All visits, sports events and trips have gone well; our weekend excursion in July was to Kerry, in the south- west of Ireland; in August we are going to the other end of the country, Northern Ireland. We will include a visit to Belfast on this trip. A particular reason for posting a news item at this time is to let you know that you can be with us this coming Sunday, no matter where you live! On next Sunday, August 11 the Sunday Mass here at the Community of the Divine Word Missionaries in Maynooth will be broadcast live on Irish Radio. It will be possible to hear the mass on Long Wave 252 and also on your computer on rte.ie/radio/mass and also on rte.ie/digitalradio. I think the first address may be the best. Also if you cannot hear the mass live, it will be possible to hear it on rte.ie/radio/mass until the end of September. We hope that some will be able to join us from around the world - friends and family of current students and teachers and also past students. Wishing everybody all the very best from Maynooth and particularly from the Divine Word School of English.
