In ‘Bol’, Faiz points to ‘the cruelty of nature and the wailing of the children of the poor’, the ‘oppression of society and the rising tide of the independence struggle’. How, he asked, could artists ignore concrete realities and cruelties? This year, Faiz Amn Mela will be dedicated to the martyr children of Peshawar. A special tribute will be paid at the event. Faiz Amn Mela has become a yearly event to celebrate his birthday (born on 13 February 1911), by workers peasants, social, Left wing and trade unionist activists at Open Air Theatre, Bag-i-Jinnah Lahore. Faiz Aman Mela 2015 will be held on Sunday 15th February, 2013 at Open Air Theatre, Bagh-e Jinnah, Mall Road, Lahore from 12noon to 5pm. There will be two sessions: 1. Peace Moshaira: prominent poets will recite their own and Faiz poetry in the first session. 2. Cultural program by nationally known artists. A “Faiz Aman Mela organizing committee formed in 2011 and prominent social and political activists and organizations are member of the committee. The committee takes up all aspects of the organization of Faiz Amn Mela. The committee function only at the time of the organization of the Mela and takes up only this activity a year. The Mela is organized with the donations collected from friends and organizations. I appeal on behalf of the committee to donate funds for the Mela. . Proposed Budget for the event The total proposed budget for the event is Rs.
