Update for the night 9/19 on Justin: Today was quite a day. Justin - TopicsExpress

Update for the night 9/19 on Justin: Today was quite a day. Justin had his Trach placed, everything went smoothly, and he got that crazy tube out of his mouth and throat. Today marks 2 weeks that Justin was intubated in Huntersville, and 3 weeks since he started running a fever feeling sick. Its crazy how fast life can change. Today, he was taken off of his sedatives (but still in pain medications, so a little groggy still). We were able to see his whole face (crazy beard and all) without a holster around his face and a tube in his mouth. One of the most beautiful sites Ive seen in a while. He was able to communicate with head nods this afternoon, I saw him smile today, and I got to see him hug his parents neck :). I was also able to sit by his bed for a while and hold his hand and just talk to him, while we looked at each other. (He was probably thinking shut up woman haha!!) I probably talked his ears off:). God is so good. I know there is always possibilities of more hurdles, but today felt like we are getting somewhere! Justin can rest more comfortably with the Trach tube hooked up to the vent, than when it was in his mouth. He understands that it is only temporary. He smiled at the dr today, and his dr seemed to be very happy with Justin today. He was smiling and talking to Justin. We have all spent many hours in prayer, and I know that God has answered (sometimes in ways I did not understand), but he has been by our side all along. I want to say thank you to all of you who continue to pray. We will continue to need prayers. Justin is still very weak and sick, and has a long ways to go, but has made great progress. I also want to say thank you to everyone that has offered to help us out, sent cards, sent private messages with sweet words, etc. I give God the glory for what he has done in Justins life. I love that man, and Im ready to have him better!!!! :) Pray for a great night for him tonight and a great day tomorrow, and so on;). Thanks yall!!
