Update from Coryns appointments today: As I said earlier, her immunologist raised her dose of IVIG. This is good in the fact that he is being proactive in trying to keep her well but also means she wont be coming off them anytime soon. :( As far as hematology goes, they redrew labs today to confirm the diagnosis of Hemophilia C. There is nothing that an be done as a prophylactic to prevent bleeding but he is going to make an action plan for if she has an injury or bleeding episode. She will have most problems with mucous membrane lined areas such as nose, sinuses, GI tract and (when shes old enough) menstration. There are medicines we can use to control bleeding as it arises. If she ever needs surgery it will be coordinated with the hematologist and they will have plasma to administer to her. After the long day at the hospital, we made an impromptu visit to the zoo. Its Coryns favorite place in the world and she was so tired she feel asleep. :( Her legs hurt so bad se couldnt walk, we got a wheelchair while we were there and I carried her to the car. When she tried to walk, she was to the point of crawling on the ground due to the pain in her legs. Shes home resting now. Hopefully the side effects of IVIG will be minimal and with rest her leg pain eases.
