Update from Kellie Timberlake-Lancaster: Friday, June 26: Today was another great day! We are increasing our schedule but decreasing our medications. This is a good thing but it causes our cowboy to be pretty fussy by the end of therapy. Today we have high fived everyone from the techs to the therapists. We have walked on a treadmill with better motor skill. Our major deal for the day was that our speech therapist brought in an ipad and had two buttons on the screen - one for yes and one for no. If he hit it, it would say the word. He wasnt really interested in it until the therapist changed it from yes and no to GUNS UP for yes and gig em for no.(Sorry to all our aggie friends).He was able to do it multiple times and even use his fingers in a pointing action!!! We were excited! Dane just needed the right motivation! We had OT and were able to catch a ball being rolled towards us and pick up colored cones on command. He would try to throw the ball to me but it was a little big for him to handle. but he was able to push it to me. Our last therapy for the day was PT and we went into a cool room with a swing suspended from the ceiling. He sat, laid down and really enjoyed swinging! It was pretty calming for us. Dane and I have played ball by ourselves and he is able to respond to commands quicker and really focus on me. Danes success today with the guns up and the motivation has me thinking about motivation. Something motivates us all. It can be many things or just one. We cling to things in our lives that ultimately do not matter. As I walk this road, I clearly know that there is only one thing that matters. I want to be motivated to live out every aspect of my life for Him. I am humbled by Gods patience, mercy and grace towards me. I am thankful for His lessons and I am covered by His love. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and ALL these things shall be added unto you. Dane had been praying for several weeks about how he could use his calf roping to glorify God.
