Update from Phillip at the foster kennels on the status of YOGI - TopicsExpress

Update from Phillip at the foster kennels on the status of YOGI who is there as needs to be separate from other dogs 24/7 to get the help she needs to heal up from all the great many drains especially at her back end (plus shes in season): The injured little girl is so sweet! Non- aggressive, not phased by the other dogs, but she (unsterilized) has been mauled! (unsterilized Boerboel male attacked her at previous home). Even her vulva has stitches, and she appears in season, which is probably what caused it. Drains and stitches all over her rear end. Weve no idea when she was stitched up, or when the drains need to come out. I think it best if she is seen by a vet (no rush, she is on antibiotics, but at least within a day or two). Best left alone in a kennel where no other dog can get to her, with her still smelling on heat. Id like to keep her here not only till she is over her stitches, but also until no longer in season before attempting to integrate her with another dog. Being on heat, she could also have been covered and pregnant, so she needs sterilisation but not before she is completely over her injuries- one recent anaesthetic will have been enough. Also cant be innoculated whilst shes on antibiotics. So a stay of around 2 weeks is envisaged to first heal her wounds, then be spayed, ans eventually heal her soul! She is a cross (Boxer Mix - probably Boxer x Staffie), an attractive, well made dog with a lovely nature. Looks a lot like the pictures you see of Jock of the Bushveld! Dr Kotze will see her after this weekend - she is spaying, deworming, microchipping and vaccinating Chloe after Chloes forever mom paid Dr Kotzes account yesterday - Chloe flies latter July to her forever home, by the way. Phillip has a full house - Sox, Nala, Cloe and Yogi are presently the Boxers with him (Yogi being Boxer x Staffie by looks of it). Yogi will need a forever home once shes healed up and anyone interested can email BoxerRescueSouthAfrica@gmail - only when she arrived at our Gauteng vollies yesterday could we determine yes she is in fact not a Boxer but a Boxer Mix. Read Yogis original description below but know that she is a Boxer Mix not a Boxer per se.
