Update on Amber : The final danger day has passed!!!! WOOHOO :D The timeline for the possibilities of all the major complications from the stroke are behind us. From here on out we only have to watch out for aftermath from the bleed and the road to recovery. Today was an amazing day. The feeding tube is out and she is eating orally on her own and very happy to be doing so. She has had most of her IVs removed and has been taking off a lot of her meds as they are no longer needed. She is talking up a storm and even laughs when she cant figure out what she is trying to say but she continues to try and figure it out till she gets her thought out. She is in incredibly positive and healthy spirits and is pushing herself more and more everyday. Arm is up over the head and starting to move naturally although she still has no movement in her hand or fingers (but we will get there). Her surgeon is very happy and impressed with her progress and didnt even imagine she would be this far along in recovery...he clearly doesnt know Amber :P I happy danced my ass out of the hospital today and will rest so well tonight knowing the light is here and growing brighter. We have a long road to recovery but we can face it knowing she is a fighter and will do anything in her power to get better and better and get back to her old self again. Tomorrow we get her in a chair and test her writing and drawing to assess her processing and abilities. She is almost always up for visitors and it has been wonderful to see so many faces come thru the door and watching her light up with joy. Please continue to send your love and energy to her as she knows so many loved ones and strangers are pulling for her and are supporting her 100%. And thank you to everyone that has been visiting and checking up on me and sending me their love and support. Through hardships like this it is life changing and awakening. Real friends are revealed and real love is displayed, and it is moving xoxo We love you all and are forever grateful
