Update on Brielle- we were back at Texas childrens pediatric today where 9 of her 10 external stitches were removed. Those have really healed well. Heres the hiccup- the 10th stitch (middle one) is completely stuck in her. The theory is that since she had 16 internal stitches, maybe its caught to those and as those dissolve this last external one will be released. We are to give it til Wednesday to come out on its own and at that point if its not we will see a pediatric surgeon to discuss opening her back up and see what its caught on and re stitch her up etc. So, the nightmare continues for our sweet girl who has already endured so much. The stitches they used to keep that wound closed were the same thickness used for a skull injury because of how wide her arm was open. Meaning the removal of them today was incredibly painful and especially the attempt of getting the one that is stuck. Prayers and well wishes for our baby girl are still needed and much appreciated.
