Update on Dad: Well, as I sit here listening to the sounds of a handful of the fighter jets from NAS Fort Worth go roaring over head while as work, it turns this frown on my face upside down to a smile. I guess I’ll just get right too it. Dad got the results from his lymph nodes back that they took from his tonsil surgery. 21 out of the 23 lymph nodes they took tested positive for cancer. We’re not sure how aggressive the spread was but the oncologist who is taking care of him told him to not wait as long as mom did. Coincidently this is the same doctor that took care of mom… With dad not having any insurance at all, they won’t do any further treatment on him and are now helping him get signed up on the (un)affordable health care act… Obamacare. They said that the treatment plan will consist of him having to have a port placed, chemo, radiation, and a possible feeding tube placed as well. My emotions have officially gotten the best of me. We lost mom Feb. 24th, 3.5 weeks later dad comes down with tonsil cancer then pancreatitis issues, then we move from the house we’ve been at for the last 5 years to an apartment and now this!?!?! The good thing is that Dad is ready to face this head on. He’s working hard at getting insurance, and forming any and everything he can in order to beat this new hurdle. I refuse to let go of Dad… He is all I’ve got… I know that I have a brother and sister, but I can’t do this again… I ask that you please continue to keep us in your prayers. I am at my wits end… I promise, I’m not having a pity party but just can’t handle much more… Don’t know what else to do. This song from Building 429 came across my mind… “WE WON’T BE SHAKEN”
