Update on Gauge: Hes feeling much better today. Smiling, babbling, growling at doctors (lol). This morning hes been seen by infectious diseases, neuro surgeon and a neurologist. Infectious diseases is managing his care and is happy with progress. Still waiting on results to see what virus caused his meningitis. They brought up his glucose levels being off but said they will discuss it when the hospitalist, infectious diseases and neuro teams come in to round. His fontenell (soft spot) is down to normal but there is some extra fluid (hydrocephalus) not related to the meningitis thats sometimes seen in babies (they are attributing it to his prematurity) he has to follow up with neurology. The neuro surgeon said as of right now its not requiring surgery. We should still be going home tomorrow hopefully.
