Update on Granny Belle: She had a bit of a setback last week. Since I was going to Summerfest in Ventura in the PomMobile, I decided to take her with me rather than cancel and stay home. She had improved in the days before leaving, so I felt that it would be safe to take her. As soon as we arrived in Ventura she started vomiting again and went off her food. I was not prepared to puree anything because I dont carry a Cuisinart around in the PomMobile. Ugh. I gave her the anti-emetic and the Sucralfate to calm her guts and just withheld food for 24 hrs. Lucky for me: Natures Farmacy West / A Better Way Pet Care had a booth there with product for sale so I bought some PuppyBac...powdered puppy milk that you mix with water. I was able to force feed with a syringe and it has sustained her until she took her first bites of food (pieces of cheese) yesterday, some Purina ProPlan chicken that I got as a sample at the show, and tonight she nibbled at some ground beef and rice. Her appetite is returning, she is puttering about in the backyard again--a bit wobbly but understandable since she has been sick for more than a month now--and once again I feel like she will survive this.
