Update on Gwen Evans Dyer: first of all, thanks for all the nice comments last night and today, and some of you asked about her personally Emily Watson, Kurt Watson, Tami Worley Holloman, and Julia Wilson Nolan b/c we saw each other @ MSE tonight. With Nate having a school thing tonight, and Collin participating in a debate competition tonight thru Sat, and me working on getting things ready for work tomorrow, since our volume has been about as high as its ever been (darn people getting work done since theyve already met their deductible!), Im just now getting a chance to do this. The surgery went well. There was obviously a lot of damage in there. I wanted a chunk of bone with which to make a necklace. Request denied. Problem was after surgery, when we realized that the nerve block for anesthesia was not working, so Gwen got another block, and as of 8:45 pm, she was more comfortable. Gwens mom is staying the night with her, and is helping with offspring transport tomorrow. Thanks to the admitting, same day services, surgery, and 4 East nursing teams at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. I was especially impressed with the teamwork of the surgery team. It was really neat getting a chance to hang out down there for a few hours this morning. Tomorrow starts therapy, so thats gonna be rough. Have a good night.
