Update on Josh and Melanie: Josh finally came home from the hospital on Tuesday evening. His stay was extended due to unexplained/unexpected migraines post-op, which finally subsided. He is doing absolutely GREAT since returning home...making him take it easy has been the hardest part so far! :-). I missed seeing Josh in the hospital his last 2 days there because I contracted some sort of vicious stomach bacteria while visiting him there his first 4 days in and landed myself in the ER on Wednesday morning for IV fluids, anti-nausea meds and hard-hitting antibiotics. Salmonella or Gastroenteritis (whichever it was) is now quickly retreating, but Im still feeling pretty rough. Despite this having been an extremely stressful and dramatic week, we are both thrilled that weve survived sheer hell and can now focus on celebrating Austins 2nd birthday tomorrow! There are no shortage of miracles in that last statement. Thanks to all the family, friends and home health nurses who supported us during our most recent times of need. We are eternally grateful to you all.
