Update on Junior for those who have been concerned: Hes still off his feed, so I took him to the vet. They gave him an anti-nausea shot, some subcutaneous fluids, and a rectal exam. Junior was, to say the least, not thrilled with that last one. Turns out he can do more that peep. When the occasional calls for it, he can yowl. Discovered when I got him home that hes also got diarrhea, although that may be due to the stupid hairball gel Ive been giving him thinking this was a hairball. All we know for sure is that he has a very slight fever, has a LOT of gas (I laughed hard at that--so sue me), and doesnt feel good. Blood work will be back tomorrow. If he doesnt perk up in a day, theyll do some x-rays. I would have done them today, but apparently he has too much gas right now to get good pictures. I am supposed to keep him isolated with a litter box to keep track of whats coming in and out of him. You can imagine how well THATS going to go over. When asked for a statement, Junior replied This day is stupid. ps. hes also gained two pounds in the last year, so once hes back on his feet, its diet time. Swell.
