Update on Laken: Good news first! The fluid filled pocket that was on Lakens spine is no longer there and her spine is fused back together. Now for the bad news... Lakens spine fused back together in a c-shape. If the spine begins to put pressure on the spinal cord it will take away her chances of ever walking. The nephrologist said she has calcium deposits on her kidneys so they put a pee bag on her to collect some pee to check the amount of calcium in her urine. If the calcium is high they will put her on medicine to lower the amount of calcium in her body. Also today her blood pressure was pretty high so they are gonna be keeping an eye on it, too. We go back May 6th for another MRI, infectious disease follow up appointment, kidney ultrasound and neurology appointment. This mommy is TIRED!!!
