Update on Mark & Monkey ~ They got new collars and toys today, seemed to like them, especially Monkey the cattle dog, she was squeaking the toys and chewing on them until she finally got the stuffing out! Mark the boxer mix wasnt real excited about the toys, but he did like the milk bone treat! Mark is still sounding bad from the CURD, but is taking his meds to get better. I have been making calls to find a rescue to help get heartworm treatment for Mark and a forever home for both of them as they are bonded and are secure with each other. They really are wonderful dogs, still havent heard them bark, and are as gentle as can be. Im talking with the shelter tomorrow about getting information on heartworm treatment for Mark, if nothing else I will try to raise money for his treatment and pray we can find them both a forever home. Not having much luck with finding a rescue...if anyone is interested in opening their heart and home to these two seniors, please let me know so that I can pass the information on to the shelter. I cannot keep them long term...please share their story with friends and family help find them a good home. Their prior owner passed and they had no one to care for them. They were in really bad shape when I picked them up, but after a good bath, medication a comfy bed and love they are getting better each day.
