Update on Shealyn Thomson.. Shea had a very busy and very important day today! When I arrived at the hospital Shea was already hooked up with OT/PT. and they all informed me that her trach was removed early this morning. Shea went on a ventilator on 2/12/14, then the trach was surgically inserted on 2/28/14 and now she is free as of 6/5/14.. Almost four months with something in the throut....I just cant imagine!!! She is still not breathing on her own but she is taking the intake of oxygen through her nose and holding at a level 5.. Another tear jerker moment...huge!!! They had her stand and pivot to the wheelchair then took her to the gym. They had Shea use the Table Stand where she is lifted by a tall table up straight and the first time she stood for 3 minutes..the second time 6 minutes..,fantastic Shea!!!! After lunch we did the start of a new puzzle....she had leg exercises in the afternoon then we played a little Rummy....and we both won some games!! What a huge day for you Shea...keep up the good work so we may put this place history as well!! Good, good day Shea!!!!
