Update on Street kitten from last night!!! Hi BKC members :-) Last night BKC member Mohammed K Saeed took a small kitten home - the kitten had a bad open wound on his belly and could not walk very well. A post by Mohammed on FB had several members suggest, that the kitten should be taken to a vet immediately, so we met up, I got the little one and brought him to British Vet, Al Wasl Rd. At BV it was clear that the wound on the belly was very painful and loads of puss ran out. The kitten’s back was also very sore, and the little one was very dehydrated. He had a high temperature, but was luckily cleared of ringworm. Kitty was put on antibiotics and tucked in for the night with lots of water and food. I left a cat who, in spite of pain and suffering, was purring and looking like he just wanted to get a good nights sleep :o) The little male kitty, now named Mau (Mauvember), is safe in the hands of the wonderful vets at British Vet. He is on antibiotics and is eating, but his open wound on his belly needs to be checked along with possible x-rays of his back. His condition is caused by a trauma – falling, hit by a car, being stuck somewhere or something like this. It’s not caused by other cats. It is impossible to tell the outcome of this story, as it all depends on the depth of the wound and the condition of Mau’s back. All these examinations and boarding can amount to as much as Dhs 2500 – 3000 and this is with the BKC discounted rates. Last night, I made a choice to pick up this kitten and take him to the vet even though I know that my economical resources are minimal. I am hoping that together we can help Mau and get him back on his paws :o) Like all members here, I really want to help cats in distress - I do not have the heart to act otherwise, but I am not able to cover these expenses alone, and I am asking you kindly to help this little one by donating towards his treatment. Donations can be made directly to British Vet Hospital, Al Wasl Rd, Dubai. Pls put the donations under my name or the name Mau. If you wish to donate online this is also possible.
