Update on Wandas granddaughter per Wanda:Brianna update: I want to share some of the positives first then concerns. She has had a couple of fairly good days, being able to be less sedated and aware without spikes or drops in blood pressure. For the first time in over 10 days fluid levels were in the negative rather than positive which is great and so much less strain on her heart. There has been no signs of infection or fever for almost a week, she knows we are there and responds to our voices with shaking her head or squeezing our hands. This is such a wonderful miracle because we have been concerned about any damage to her brain through all of this, and thank you God, so far this does not seem to be an issue. The critical concern still remains the clotting and bleeding issues. This is the stage we were in a few days ago when things were looking up, then she crashed. They are increasing the heprin in very small doses and will have to do so until they feel they numbers are sufficient for the mechanical device to be effective and not so high that it causes bleeding again. So, once again, I am asking for prayers for this specific issue. I love all of you and knowing how often all of us and Brianna are in your thoughts and prayers has, and is, helping me get through this difficult time. I have so many praise experiences to share as time goes on and will do so with as many as I can. AMEN So many of you have asked if there was anything in addition to the prayers that you could do during this situation, and I do have a request. Please send her an e-card. Go to the Childrens Hospital, St. Louis MO and on the web site there is a section to send greetings, and they print them out for her once a day. We have read those that have been sent and she has a board where they are displayed for her to keep track of. On the site just put in---Brianna Weddington, CICU and whatever message you want. It will be so wonderful to hear from the people she knows, and so cool for her to know there are those she has never met before that are thinking about her. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
