Update on my little peanut of a foster Elzie: So it has taken about a week for her to understand that this new life of hers means sleeping a lot, playing a lot, eating a lot, and pooping and peeing on a normal schedule. For some reason, she just did not want to pee or poo...at all. With a lot of patience on my part, Ive been working with her peeing and pooping on a leash and she is FINALLY getting the idea. She is also very young. She will be 2 on October 12, and she can still be very puppy-like. She will come up to you and all of sudden want to play, with outstretched legs (like a deer) and kisses flying at your face so fast its hard to dodge them. Teenagers would be fine but small children might not be the best fit. Its really a lot of excitement on her part. She is still stimulated by my cats when they run, but if they are sleeping, she leaves them alone. I just keep correcting her with them. Shes an extremely happy dog and wants to be with people and enjoys the company of other dogs. She is sleeping through the night and crates wonderfully. I feel this sweet girl would most likely do really well in a home that has a fenced in yard where she can play or if you do not have a fence, to have someone who is going to be walking her a lot. She enjoys the company of other dogs very much so it might be better to be adopted into a home with other dogs for her to play with and learn from too. That is, unless you are home a lot, then she will make a great solar dog. She is a love bug and adores to curl up next to you and have her belly or ears scratched. Shes very smart and is learning very quickly. She is a gorgeous red brindle with the cutest black mask and a heart to match. She will be worth every ounce of time and love you put into her.
