Update on my mother.. Spent about 8 hrs at the hospital yesterday with Tyler Holm and Brittany Holm, and got to see my mother twice. She was asleep most of the day, other than when her pain medication wore off and it was time to get medicated. Yesterday was the first time I got to see her open her eyes, and while holding her hand, she squeezes my hand with the strongest of grip.. showing me she has a lot of fight in her!! It was hard enough that my hand was sore when she finally let go and went back to sleep. When she looked and found that Tyler and I were at her bedside, tears started down her face, took everything in me to hold it all in and keep it together.. but she is responsive, and will nod yes or no of you ask her questions. She looks absolutely beautiful after her facial reconstruction, looks more like my mother. Either today or in the next couple days, she is getting transferred down to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, so she can have work done on her pelvis. All the prayer, love, and support is making all this as painless of a process as possible, as it shows that the Lord is wrapping his healing hands around my mother.
