Update on our newest fur baby. By the way, her name is Freckles.... Bottom line - she is going to be okay! Took Freckles to the vet today. Hubbs Clinic really checked her out. No ID Chip.... not surprised. No heartworms. Not anemic. Mouth/teeth are healthy....No worms, but was given medicine to make sure. Has start of sarcoptic mange - reason for the bare spots. It is a mite, and the topical medicine prescribed will kill these mites. Received all vaccinations, deworm medicine. Dr. Hubbs and Kim decided to prescribe Revolution - topical medicine/drops for heartworm prevention; treats/controls ear mites and this mange; kills/prevents fleas and tick infestation. Freckles is a Catahoula mix and about seven months old..... After looking up this breed, she may even be a full breed. Wikipedia stated that most predominantly white Catahoulas can be deaf or partially deaf, so breeders usually euthanize them. Freckles was so good - hopped in my car, let me put a leash on her, stayed right beside me at the vet, was very friendly, and hopped back in the car. She just chilled out in the back seat..... I am already in love with this little girl.
