Update on the Hood Revelers: Knot bad. Pretty noisy, knot the most, which Id say was 4 or 5 years ago, but respectable. I was blowing trumpet in the back building and when I came in 15 min. ago I did something Ive never done before: I stood in the back yard and played Taps one time. Call me a sheer egotist,,,,but,,,,it seemed to me it did quiet down by the time I finished(!)--which it should now anyway--but Ive never been a strong trumpeter and I doubt anyone could hear me beyond maybe a house or two. It would seem fitting for me to say something patriotic here at the end of another July 4th but,, I always feel like any words I conjure up could come across in a disingenuous way, that is only hollow words, platitudes, flag waving......Still, Id simply like to say that I feel so fortunate in this big world to be an American, I feel honored, humbled, cheerful and proud too.
