Update on travelling into frustration... this weekend is a planning for the Rebirth of Mother Earth Medicine Wheel. I scraped together all I could and bought a 94 Pontiac Grand Am from my business partner Dave Dandell. Put a temporary 3 day permit to test drive, seemed really good, till 40 miles out into a mountain drive.... lost power and dies. I look at the gas gauge 3/4 of a tank, must be a fuel pump or filter? Was on a dangerous corner, had to get a tow truck, nice people driving me about and getting all that organized... cost to tow $100.00. Funds for my trip fade away, looking like near $400.00 all together to get fixed. The car was towed to my Aunties house in Lumby and now would have to tow it back into Vernon, on top of all that. Okay... roll forward 4 days and we go to Lumby to do that, have to get another day permit or the tow truck wont haul it uninsured. I get in and look at the gas gauge, still reads 3/4 a tank of gas... wait a minute, that should have gone down when you shut off the ignition? I say to Dave... “what if it just ran out of gas Dave?”, well its worth a try and we get a gas can from my Uncle Allen and go get $10.00 worth of gas... put it in there and Varoom, starts right up. Oh man. The gas gauge doesnt work! Well I tried and all the funds I had to go to that meeting at the wheel are gone... well I had a Native teacher that told me, “Rory, there is a reason for everything... and everything, has a reason.” Ill have to just run with that, and besides all of that worry and stress when the car started, means at least I have a car that runs pretty good for $350.00 + unforeseen circumstances. I did feel a little foolish and the family got a good laugh over it all... thank you Grandfather for your tests and I promise to be good, and accept whatever you place in my path, even when one cant smile and be happy... well its happening. Peace & Love... have a great and wonderful day all that are at The Medicine Wheel for the Weekend and the weather for it, is awesome... for whatever the maybe unseen reasons. Im there in Spirit, with you all. Yr Bro Ro
