Update to Farmers Grain Elevator Explosion history lesson...About 15 minutes after Arcadia VFD was alerted to respond to Galveston our Engine 33 and myself and David Polinard in my personal vehicle had run emergency traffic down Hwy 6 through Hitchcock [Hitchcock officers had the 3 main intersections manned allowing emergency vehicles clear running through the town] We were entering Galveston around 71st street and Broadway when another call came out in Santa fe.."School on fire" I told David "we are going to the school fire" I took the 61st exit and back to Santa fe we responded to what turned out to be a portable classroom with minor damage. We responded back to Galveston and were able to get to our pumper located on the backside of the elevator drafting from the pier. At first we were not allowed in to the scene until someone came running up the long road that led to the elevator property yelling its going to blow, run, run so everyone did except us and we made our way around the wreckage and collapse till we located our pumper.
