Updated - Five days of strike action by London Underground workers have been announced by the RMT Union. These are currently scheduled for: 9pm Monday 28 April until the morning of Thursday 1 May 9pm Monday 5 May until the morning of Friday 9 May Students undertaking exams will need to factor potential disruptions into their travel plans and where necessary make alternative travel arrangements to ensure they arrive on time: Allow extra time for journeys and plan routes using the bus and local rail networks Arrange a lift with staff or students who are driving onto campus (be aware that roads are likely to be much busier) If strike action goes ahead, students travelling in for exams will be able to use unused parking spaces on campus without a parking permit - however these may not be in student parking areas so allow extra time for heavier traffic on campus and a longer walk to your exam venue. Follow the guidance offered by security staff. Look at staying locally the night before an exam, either with friends or at a local hotel or B&B. During the exam period students staying in halls will not need to hire campbeds if they are putting up friends for exams, however please still let your residences manager know for fire purposes and remember that all other rules regarding guests still apply. Please check the TFL website nearer the time for service updates especially the Services we Expect to Run page: (tfl.gov.uk/modes/tube/services-we-expect-to-run). For full information on the strikes, please see the BBC website or other news sources and keep checking IntraBrunel for any updates.
