Updates from the Cull Zone. Day 13. With the Cotswold Vale Farmers Hunt out cubbing in the East Side of the cull zone today, just south of Tewkesbury, some local sabs went to visit them. The hunt ended up in various maize fields, so heres hoping there were no badgers in cages in there! Sabs stayed out to do their usual sett-checking afterwards, so have had a long day! Threats were made by a man driving a white van towards someone monitoring the cull - shots were then heard and more people arrived in the area before police asking for details from anti-cull people. The first arrest of the Glos Cull almost happened... and then didnt. Section 50 Police reform Act 2002 (check out network23.org/freebeagles for legal information). Many areas were completely quiet for the majority of the night with a few groups of shooters being seen off from across the zone. Plenty of stuff to keep many of us busy however, including one sab group finding an injured fox and taking her to Vale Wildlife Hospital. We do have someone around who is up for being a wildlife ambulance, thereby taking responsibility from those out in the field trying to protect areas, but if youre already in your van and en route, Vales your place to go. Keep us updated on goings-on in your areas and well keep you updated on what we know this end. Le us know if youre coming into the zone on the office number: 07582 607913 or call our camp and welfare number: 07845 467956 for accommodation info. Please remember to call the right number for what you want to find out as our arrestee-support person has no idea whats going on in the zone and the camp and welfare person wont be able to let you know where needs protection! See you in the zone. GBO
