Uploaded on 1 Apr 2008 In South Indians, our everyday traditional food is incomplete with a podi (spice pwd) and its an an essential food item on the dining Curry leaves powder is a spice powder also known as Karivepaaku Podi or Karepaaku Podi, made from curry leaves, lentils and spices 1/2 cup Chana dal 1 bag Curry leaves few 0 Garlic(optional) 4-5 number Green chilies (chopped) 1/2 + 1/2 tsp Methi seeds and cumin seeds 1 tsp Mustard seeds 1 tbsp Oil 1 tbsp peppercorns to taste Salt few piece tamarind Directions • 1. In a pan heat oil.Add mustard seeds,methi & cumin seeds & mix them. 2. Add chana dal,peppercorns,tamarind & cook all of them on low heat. 3. As chana dal gets the color, add green chillies & garlic.Cook till chillies become dry. 4.Once green chillies starts drying, add curry leaves & hing powder.Cook on a low heat till curry leaves dry out. 5.Add a pinch of salt & allow the mixture to cool down. 6.
