Upon every generation arrives a moment in history where change - TopicsExpress

Upon every generation arrives a moment in history where change must happen immediately. For the yesteryears it was the Sharpville massacre. Such a moment arrived in Egypt and led to Tahir Square and the Arab Spring. To the education fratenity, UKZN Executives response to Open letter has (unbeknown to them) provided that moment. TODAY IS THE DAY TO STAND UP AND DO SOMETHING RADICAL FOR EDUCATION AND DEMOCRACY WHEN THE UKZN FOUR ARE DRAGGED TO ANSWER FOR DARING TO SPEAK. THIS IS OUR ENOUGH IS ENOUGH MOMENT! It now only remains for students, staff and community leadership to seize the moment and lead a resolute defiance campaign that will lead to (among other things): 1. the total liberation of UKZN of its tryanny, 2. The withdrawal of all charges unconditionally, 3. The resignation of UKZN Executive and Council, 4. The Minister of Higher Education & Training to immediately appoint an interim admin that will address all the concerns raised in the Open Letter of February 21 as well as the January 14 Memorandum served by the Howard College UKZN Local SRC from which the open letter emanates. 5. The Minister to immediately address all concerns of students funding and housing across the country and to attend to UKZN in person. The question is do we have such leaders among students and staff to rally the troops and the whole society at the Quad and across the University spectrum in the country?
