Urgent Call for Help This is Honeys Story Impound Number #3686 found herself in a large Sydney pound, pregnant and abandoned, waiting for her owners to come and collect her or for a rescue to come and give her hope. Honey is a 3 year old Ridgeback x female who had been in the pound for 4 weeks. When calling the pound on an unrelated matter we were asked if we could help this pregnant girl. I asked around and a small Victorian rescue group ‘Eden Ark Private Rescue & Rehome’ said they would be happy to take this girl in and give her the chance she deserves. Honey was collected by a temp carer that same day, until she was able to get onto transport to her new start in life. Honey started, only a few hours after being picked up, showing signs of restlessness and panting, without any signs of pups coming. She was taken to the vet outside of normal trading hours, where sadly she underwent an emergency c section to save her life and that of her babies. Sadly all her babies had died. Honey still would have had a couple more weeks of gestation if the babies were alive and healthy. Last night we got this devastating news and many tears have fallen for Honey’s babies. We are extremely thankful that, although the pups didn’t make it, Honey had come through surgery and that she was doing OK. Chances are that, if left in the pound and laboring overnight, Honey would not have made it. Today we got, yet, more sad news. We thought this ordeal was over and that Honey now just had to heal and mend after her surgery. We were burdened with the news that the probable reason for the death of her babies and premature labor is that Honey had been incubating Parvovirus. Honey is now on intravenous antibiotics, through her post op drip and is fighting for her own life. We don’t want to give up on this girl, not only given what she has already been through, but after such an ordeal with losing her babies, we believe she deserves a very big chance of a new life. Honey is still in the Vet and her chances of survival being an older dog are high. We want what is best for this dear sweet girl but it does come at a high cost to the rescue. We have created this page in the hope of getting assistance to help cover some of the costs associated with helping Honey. We appreciate any help towards her vet bill which is, at this point, over $1000. This is a large bill for a small rescue group and given that Honey is still being treated at the vets, we estimate this amount will escalate. We will update the value as we get it. We apologise for this being such an emotional story and, please believe all involved have been through a roller coaster of emotion. But we are really feeling for Honey here who has been through so much more then we can imagine. There is no donation too small; we sincerely appreciate any support given and thank you deeply for it. We will keep everybody updated on how Honey is doing from now until she finds her forever home Any contributions can be made to following account with a Reference that it is for Honeys care Vet deets Name Tom Lonsdale Bank NAB BSB 082-918 Acc 527 637 956
