Kane is clad in a snow white perfectly groomed coat. He wears a few calluses but his teeth are the one of a much younger dog. Good genes, good care made him what he is now, an elderly dog with a brain, a nice figure and a pleasant pet to spend time with. It must be tough on Kane to find himself in a kennel after spending all his life as a family member. He cries softly at times and needs comfort. He comes with excellent comments from his former owners who relinquished Kane to us as they could not care for a dog anymore. Kane has a lot of fire in his eyes and his smile is contagious. He walks very nicely and peacefully on the leash, eliminates on the way and sits on command. He comes right away when I call him, wagging gently his tail and wiggling slowly his body. He does not seem to mind other dogs sniffing our pen. What a nice gentleman! He takes my treats very politely from my hand and likes to be caressed and talked to. I am sure he was loved... I like spending time with Kane. He is calm, loving, well mannered and a beautiful sight. Kane so deserves to spend his golden years treated as an old gentleman should be, with respect and love... Will you open your home and heart to him? A volunteer writes: Its sad to see this gorgeous dog trembling in his kennel, out of sorts, not sure why his life has turned upside down. Surrendered by his family, he cries a bit, and in a pen in the backyard paws at the door wanting to leave and go home. Hes housetrained, going as soon as we were out the door, and has an amazingly spry step for an older gent! His leash manners are excellent, he doesnt pull, and I had a hard time keeping up to his pace. Quite impressive! He loves to be petted and will stand still for a good rub down and wags his tail in appreciation. Although his former family didnt mention it, Kane is likely deaf, not responding to any kind of sound stimulation. Kane is looking for a retirement home in which to spend his senior years. Hes an amazing senior, with wonderful energy and lots of love to give to his new family. Lets show him that his golden years are worth looking forward to.
