Urgent notice: City Power releases load-shedding schedule Find out when and how long your suburb will be affected by Eskom’s load shedding measures. Eskom has announced on 6 March that it will have to resort to the same extreme load-shedding measures last seen in 2008, owing to the large volumes of rain leaving their coal stocks wet.Roodepoort’s electricity supplier City Power has released the schedule they will be following until further notice.In Roodepoort all load shedding will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.The following areas will be affected on those days, but between 10am and 2pm:• Allen’s Nek• Breaunanda• Constantia Kloof• Creswell Park• Davidsonville• Discovery• Grobler Park• Groblerpark• Helderkruin• Horison• Horison Park• Horizon View• Kloofendal Block• Lindhaven• Manufacta• Matholesville• Ontdekkers Park• Poortview• Princess• Princess AH• Reefhaven• Roodekrans• Roodepoort CBD• Roodepoort North• Roodepoort West• Weltevreden Park• West Gate• Wilro Park• WitpoortjieThe following areas also will be affected on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but between 6pm and 10pm.• Bergbron• Delarey• Fleurhof• Florida CBD• Florida Cliffe• Florida Glen• Florida Hills• Florida Lake• Florida North• Florida Park• Georginia• Hamberg• Maraisburg• Quellerina• Rand Leases“We ask all our customers to use electricity sparingly by switching off non-essential appliances and equipment during peak hours,” says Louis Pieterse, City Power’s Director of Engineering Operations.Customers are urged to switch off appliances and equipment during outages to prevent damage from power surges.
