Urgent prayer request. During the Thanksgiving holidays of 2009, my step-daughter was visiting us in Kyoto when she suddenly collapsed in terrible pain. My wife rushed her to the hospital, where the doctors informed her that her kidneys were failing. She was medicated and put on a bullet train back to her home (and personal physician) in Tokyo. She was referred to a specialist and subsequently began dialysis. In April of 2010, with complete kidney failure and no hope for transplant from another source, my wife donated one of hers to her daughter. We had thought everything was going well. The doctors told us that the transplant ought to remain in working order until our daughter would be in her 50s. (Shell be 33 next week.) She (her name is Alisa) went back into hospital on Valentines Day this year... on continuous dialysis. Her mother and I didnt know about this until a couple of days ago. Alisa seems to have a very low red blood cell count, while her white cells are extremely high. She also has a clotting problem that the doctors havent, yet, been able to pinpoint the reason for. Her mother doesnt have another kidney to donate. Her biological father cannot donate due to hepatitis. I cannot donate due to Japanese law that forbids donation from living donors who are non-next of kin (to clamp down on illegal commercial organ harvesting). We all need your prayers. Thank you.
