Users of the 2degrees network are complaining of technical issues. 2degrees has now confirmed some customers have been hit by outages. Details are unclear at this stage, but a company spokesman says customers are having intermittent connection problems. Technicians are working to diagnose and fix the problem, and customers are currently being asked to try to send data or make calls two or three times if their connections fail. The outage has only affected those in Auckland and Wellington. Phonecalls to the mobile provider’s 0800 number are greeted with a recorded message informing customers ‘we’re having some technical issues right now and we can’t answer your call’. Even 2degrees staff have been hit by the fault. A spokesman 3 News contacted was unaware of the fault, but his phone cut out before he could look into it. We have colleagues who can use their phones while some others cant, he says. Twitter user @BRONNINATOR says she can receive text messages but not send them, while other Twitter and Facebook users have detailed problems making or receiving calls, accessing mobile or home internet, or sending and receiving picture messages. The network currently boasts 580,000 customers across the country. Read more: 3news.co.nz/2degrees-customers-hampered-by-fault/tabid/412/articleID/209257/Default.aspx#ixzz2vusMXwXw
