Usually every year I make a quick summary of the year and acknowledge how appreciative I am of everything in my life. Looking back most of my messages were filled with positive messages from a confident person. Unfortunately a year ago today I was hit with some very hard news that literally shattered my heart. I knew in my head I wouldnt be able to enjoy my night no matter what, little did i know i wouldnt be able to enjoy the next few months either. Just when I thought the worst had come the bad news kept rolling in. 2014...craziest year. It put a lot into perspective for me. To TRULY be appreciative of friends & family, health, stability and life. Up until now I was unknowingly naive of the hardships life can entail. But you know what, its been a year, and Im still standing. 2014 has taught me more lessons than I couldve ever expected throughout it all. I found my inner strength, peace and faith. It is true that we find ourselves in the midst of adversity. I am thankful to be part of such a strong and amazing family. I am thankful for my mentors whos helped shaped me into who I am today. I am thankful that my heroes from when I was child, are still the same ones today. Family. Yesterday I was reflecting on the entire year and I came across a picture of a bow and arrow, it said An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means its going to launch you into something great. So just focus and keep aiming. This is exactly what I think 2014 was for me, a struggle for a greater purpose. For not just me, but everyone I care about. I leave the negativity, the anger, the hurt of 2014 behind and I take the perseverance, the strength and the heart to continue on with me into 2015. Hoping for an amazing year for myself and for everyone out there going through it! Wishing you all the best! Happy New Year! oxox
