Ute Valley Park Master Plan Meeting Thanks to everyone who showed up at the first meeting last night. Lots of good information about factors that constrain the outcomes of this process- slope facing direction, soil composition, animal habitat, paleontology, archaeology and more. There were quite a few bikers and no chance that bikes will be banned outright. It is certain that some trails will be closed and we definitely need more advocates at the next meeting to ensure an appropriate compromise on this. MWTAs position is that trails which provide unique experiences should be retained, and repaired as necessary. Some redundant trails should be closed. In accordance with the citys overall Parks Master Plan (approved by council yesterday, well done council!) there were several opinions that the plan should include at least some legit single direction, gravity MTB trails. They will need to be properly built and more sustainable than the existing rogue slopestuff but might be in the same area. PLEASE if you love MTB riding in Ute, attend the 2nd master plan meeting, where trail alignments will be chosen. Nov 12 eagleviewmiddle school.
