In your role as a Utilities and Manipulated Packing Department Manager at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by: Driving rigor in the execution of Daily Management structure and execution, work processes, standards adherence, scorecard measures and gap analysis of key results. The UMP Department Manager is responsible for all Safety, Quality, Food Safety, Cost, Delivery, Productivity and Morale results in Utilities and Manipulated Packaging Own and lead site Clean, Inspect and Lubricate (CIL) system as part of Autonomous Maintenance Center membership, Chemical Use, Storage and Hazardous Communication and Environmental Health and Safety Risk Assessment programs Lead Utilities and wastewater food safety pre-requisite programs Lead annual Utilities outage, managing >200 resources across the site to safely complete major project and maintenance load Be the master and primary coach of Kellogg Work System methodology Responsible for people management systems within the department, including employee performance development, recognition, compatibility, and employee progression / readiness, and provide necessary consistent communication to the line teams and interface with project teams and support departments Operating Budget: $20.2 Million and Staffing: 97 (22 Kellogg Technicians, 75 Contract Labor Personnel WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE? As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Manufacturing to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements: Required: Bachelor’s degree with managerial experience in a manufacturing setting Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others Strong problem solving, negotiating, and decision making skills with the proven ability to manage complex situations Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite Collaborative work style, able to partner with leaders of other functional areas and business partners to drive overall performance Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Experience with leading and applying lean principles in a manufacturing environment Experience in successfully managing and leading teams Technical and Operations experience in process, bulk material delivery, and packaging Experience in leading Kellogg Work System activities Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW? Minimal Travel required This is a 24/7 operation and this role will require occasional off-shift and weekend hours The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
