Utkal University Bhubaneswar notifies PhD Admissions 2015 1 Applications in the prescribed Form are invited by Utkal University, Bhubaneswar from intending candidates who have secured minimum 55% (50% in case of SC/ST candidates and college teachers with 15 years of teaching experience) of marks at PG level for PhD Entrance Test and Interview for the session 2015-16 Ph.D in Faculties of Culture Studies, Language and Literature, Visual Art & Performing Art under Utkal University of Culture Eligibility Criteria Master degree holders having secured at least 55% marks in the above discipline of Utkal University or any other university recognized as equivalent are eligible for Ph.D registration provided they qualify through an entrance test followed by interview Subject in which marks are not awarded equivalent grade point shall be taken as the qualifying grade/mark However, candiates belonging to SC/ST category and college teacher having 15 years of teaching experience shall be given ralaxation of 5% marks at Masters Degree level Exemption from Entrance Test Candidates qualifying UGC-CSIR / NET/GATE/SLET/DBT/ICMR /ICAR /ICHR/ICSSR/INSPIRE Fellowship of DST/Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship / Dept. of Culture, Govt, of India and other National Bodies and awardees of Teacher Fellowship and such other fellowship as will be approved by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time are also exempted from entrance test and interview M.Phil Degree holders are also exempted from entrance test and interview provided they have been admitted to M.Phil programme through a written entrance test Teachers of colleges /University /institutions of Higher Education and professionals with 7 years teaching /professional experience shall be exempted from appearing the entrance test and interview The numbers of seats available in each faculty for PhD Registration have been mentioned below: i) Culture Studies - 15 (Seats) ii) Language and Literature - 10 (Seats) iii) Visual Art - 10 (Seats) iv) Performing Art - 15 (Seats) The number of seats specified above against each subject does not include the exempted category of candidates Conduct of Entrance Test Applications for Entrance Test (Appendix-I) dully filled in along with the requisite fees through Bank Draft shall be sent to the Controller of Examinations either by post or in person Incomplete applications in any respect and applications recieved beyond the stipulated date shall be summarily rejected and no communication shall be made with the candidates in this regard The candidates who are eligible to be exempted from Entrance Test and Interview may also apply in the Entrance Test application form for issue of necessary exemption certificate They need not pay the fee application for entrance test Fees to be paid Cost of Entrance Test Application Form: Rs.500/- Entrance Test Fees: Rs.2000/-; Total - Rs.2500/- The above fees shall be paid through bank draft drawn in favour of Utkal University of Culture payable at United Bank of India, Market Building, Unit-II, Bhubaneswar-751009 Application Form The prescribed application form is to be downloaded from the University Website uuc.ac.in Applications for entrance test duly filled in along with the bank draft amounting Rs.500/- (Rs five hundred) only drawn in favour of Comptroller of Finance, Utkal University payable at SBI, Utkal University campus branch, Vani Vihar Towards cost of application form shall be sent to the Heads of respective PG Teaching Depts Necessary information regarding number of seats in each faculty for Registration to the PhD programme and other procedure for Entrance Test are available in the Information Sheet to the candidates attached to the Entrance Application Form For full details of prospectus and downloading of application forms, visit website uuc.ac.in Important Dates Last date of receipt of application for entrance test: 28th January 2015 Date of entrance test: 22nd February 2015 Utkal University, Bhubaneswar Sardar Patel Hall Complex, Bhubaneswar-751009, Tel.: 0674-2535487, Email: [email protected], Website uuc.ac.in
