VACANCY: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer: Musasa Project Deadline: 2 February 2015 Background Musasa through the Integrated Support Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs Gender and Community Development with the support from UNFPA is implementing 3 main programs (i) Community Dialogues with men and women discussing issues around Gender Based Violence, (ii) Trainings to Gender Based Violence Multi Sectoral district heads on Gender Based Violence Management, (iii) Provision of services to survivors of Gender Based Violence. Through the programs we aim at increasing knowledge on Gender Based Violence, changing attitudes, behaviors, providing improved services and improving the psycho social wellbeing of survivors of Gender Based Violence, with the overall goal of reducing Gender Based Violence. Musasa is recruiting a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer who will monitor and ensure high quality and timely inputs, and ensure that project maintains its strategic vision and that its activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner. Under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director the M&E Officer assists in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the Gender Based Violence programme He/She is responsible for providing timely and relevant information for programme planning, monitoring, evaluation and management. He/She supports the members of the program team to effectively monitor and evaluate and contribute to organizational programmes. Responsibilities In particular, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for the following areas of work: - Lead in the development of a results-based monitoring and evaluation system that emphasizes reporting on results - In close collaboration with Programme officers the M&E officer will coordinate and support the development and implementation of Musasa’s monitoring and evaluation plan with an emphasis on the activities being supported by UNFPA through the Integrated Support Programme - Based on the AWP and, in particular the Programme budgets, design the framework for monitoring of Programme activities - Prepare calendar of M&E activities and ensure their implementation as planned - Coordinate the preparation of all programme reports and guide other staff in preparing these reports in accordance with approved reporting formats, and ensure their timely submission - Ensure collection and analysis of data for gender based violence indicators during programme implementation and ensure that the results are used in programming - Undertake regular visits to the field to support implementation of the M&E plan and to identify challenges and document lessons learned - Coordinate operations research conducted by Musasa - Contribute to documentation of good practices in prevention of gender based violence - Provide technical support and training of other staff members on Result-Based Management - Suggest strategies for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks Qualifications and experience - A Bachelor’s degree in Social science, Demography, Statistics or any related field - At least two years experience in monitoring and evaluation of gender based programmes particularly those based in the community - Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis - Proficiency in MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Strong communication skills, both spoken and written and ability to work with various partners at national, provincial and district levels - Ability to respond rapidly to new events and meet deadlines including under stressful conditions - Hands-on experience working with Government structures - Excellent written and spoken English, knowledge of Shona or Ndebele essential Please send curriculum vitae and your application letter addressed to: The Director at: [email protected] copy [email protected] or 64 Selous, Corner 7th Avenue, Harare
