VETERANS DAY – my slant =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=. There have been a zillion statements justifying the need for war. None of them are valid. Every man, woman and child in every country on earth wants only to live. The common beings have little need to conquer, to save face, to expand the empire. The blame for trillions of dead throughout the ages can be placed directly at the feet of the rich. For the elite, a home, a job, a family, an income, food on the table and the normal joys of life are simply insufficient. As a result, the common folk pay the price. Yes, our country HAD to fight WWI and WWII. The world is definitely a better place due to the sacrifices of our veterans. My point is ALL people everywhere have been cajoled, propagandized and manipulated into conflicts which ONLY benefit their rulers, kings, czars and presidents. This is usually done economically. The Germans flocked to Hitler because the Kaiser’s actions had drowned the country in an inflationary spiral. The Japanese were deluded into b believing their Emperor was a god. In Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, our veterans pay a stiff price and come home to a land where the minimum wage has not been raised to a living wage in several decades. They come home to a country where two parties squabble endlessly to enrich their personal coffers but do nothing to benefit the nation and its citizens as a whole. Thank you veterans. Sincerely, thanks. It angers me to see you paying the price for nothing. Nothing has changed. Nothing will change until everyone sees clearly. Though this video is Australian and speaks about the horrors of the WWI Battle of Gallipoli, it can readily be applied to our country and any and every other nation in the world. War is ridiculous. War is a waste. War must be abolished. Blue collar citizens need to strenuously object to the continual useless carnage.
