VH-AGU is an Oklahoma City built C47B, delivered to the USAAF as 44-76336 in April 1945. It was transferred to the RAAF as A69-72 one month later and operated by them until 1958, when it was disposed of. It then passed through a number of hands, including East West Airlines of Tamworth, New South Wales, eventually ending up in the ownership of Jeff Trappett (its current owner.) Jeff also owns a restored CAC Mustang. I photographed it one evening at Avalon Airport in March 2013, painted in the scheme of a Vietnam era USAF Spooky Gunship.
