Komen event to raise money for breast cancer research so that one day we may live in a world free from breast cancer. A message from our sponsor: Dear Family and Friends We are the Lummi Breast Friends Forever seeking support to be able to represent our Lummi Nation Women and all our Relations. We will be walking The Seattle 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk September 20, 21 and 22nd the walkers who are Lummi are Katrina Rodriquez, Charlene Alexander, Tammy Cultee, Carmen Fitzgibbon, Lea Black and Penny Carol Hillaire. The journey is rewarding and inspiring to never be silent to encourage our moms, sisters, daughters, friends and grandmothers to do self-exams, annual mammograms and stay healthy. The team will consist of one breast cancer survivor and a grandmother to our Lummi Children. We have two daughters walking for their moms that battled breast cancer, one lost her battle and one mom is surviving. We have a sister who walks for her sister in her memory; this will be her 4th year walking on her behalf. We have two women that walk on behalf of their friends, one supports the young women who lost her mom at a young age and the other friend was a close of friend who lost her battle to cancer. We know there are stories similar to ours and we will walk for all women of the Lummi Nation and All Our Relations. We are dedicated to give back to community by being the messenger and hosting the Noon walk on July 18th. We are need of support to carry the message to young men and women.
