VIETNAM AND MR GI JOE. By Robert L. Keith Jr. Ok people, you say you want to know, about Vietnam and GI Joe. So Ill give you a little information of what is happening in our Nation. Day and night we fight. Always living in fright. Not knowing if we are going to live or die as the days and months pass by. The mosquitoes and leaches seem to eat us alive, as they suck the blood from our hide. We travel through the thick jungle terrain and eat and sleep in the mud and rain. Sometimes we get no sleep and go for days with out anything to eat. But we are trained for such an occasion, how to survive in this situation. When the burning sun breaks through the thermometer pushes one hundred and two. With the sweat pouring from our face we keep up the steady pace. The Germans call us Devil Dogs while the VC called us Mad Dogs. They say we are insane but our job is to be a MARINE! We are not going to quit until we are through because we know what we must do. That is to wipe out the VC, so this country can be free. And our job wont be done until this war is won. Sure theyll keep coming, but well keep them running.
