VOLLEYBALL WINS DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP! The Trinity Catholic High School girls volleyball team won the district championships Monday night when the Titans knocked off Lutheran North in two games, 25-20 and 25-18. The volleyball district title sends the Titans into the sectional round of the Missouri Class 2 State Tournament. Trinity Catholic will host the sectional and quarterfinal rounds that will feature the District six, seven and eight champions along with Trinity Catholic, which won District 5. As the top seed in the district tournament, the Titans received a bye in the first round and then defeated Cardinal Ritter in two games in the semifinal match. The team is led by seven seniors including, Cayla Thurman (St. Rose Philippine Duchesne), Katie Eveld (Blessed Teresa of Calcutta), Danielle Doherty (Blessed Teresa of Calcutta), Katie Claspille (St. Norbert), Shannon Kettmann (St. Norbert), Erika Douglas (Christ Light of the Nations) and Sydnie Martin (St. Angela Merici). Along with Juniors Anna O’Brien (St. Rose Philippine Duchesne) and Jessica Eaton (St. Rose Philippine Duchesne) and sophomores Kayleigh Fite (Sacred Heart), Haley Rowberry (Sacred Heart), Holly Hennessey (Sacred Heart) and Abby Grumich (Sacred Heart).
