VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY! Consultative Forum Member for AgeNI The Age NI Consultative Forum was formed in 2010. The purpose of the Forum is to identify the needs and concerns of older people (in relation to poverty, health, equality and other issues) and communicate these to Age NI. In addition the Forum engages with, advises and challenges Age NI on policy issues and on its strategic direction. The work of the CF covers the whole of Northern Ireland and focuses on issues affecting people over the age of 50. It works collaboratively with, and in support of, Age NI. Purpose of Role- 1.To ensure the voice of older people is at the heart of Age NI 2.To Enable Age NI to listen and respond to older people and their issues Outline of Activities- 1.Influencing - Affect the lives of older people by shaping the policies, practices and strategies of the charity 2.Enabling – the charity to listen and respond to people in later life 3.Embracing – equality and diversity of people in later life 4.Providing – a channel for people in later life to engage with clarity on issues of public policy and practice with affects them 5.Representing – be the voice of older people in Northern Ireland
