VOLUNTEER: Summer 2014 Guatemala Trip With VAW Are you interested in International Health? Do you love volunteering? Do you want to help the underserved… abroad? Join Volunteers Around the World (VAW) at UC Davis for an adventure in beautiful Guatemala this summer (2014)! Volunteers will work alongside local physicians to provide basic medical care to underserved communities, including shadowing doctors, taking vitals, and distributing medication--all in a makeshift clinical setting. Those who embark on this journey will stay with host families, and have many chances to interact with the locals to further immerse themselves in a new culture. Spanish is not required! This two-week trip will open your eyes to the medical disparities in the rural villages of Guatemala and give you a brief glimpse into the everyday lives of the local people. You’ll also have a chance to experience the beauty of traveling and volunteering aboard. All majors and backgrounds are encouraged to participate! Help make a difference.
