The Town Board and I: Kept the tax levy at 0%, reduced debt and increased highway reserves for equipment replacement Expanded the popular Summer Recreation Program with assistance from the Clara Gott Fund, St. Peter’s Church and the Academy Increased police presence to slow chronic speeders in the hamlets and also on the back roads Increased monies available to the Highway Department for bridge replacement and paving Support the Comprehensive Plan Oversight Committee in reviewing our regulations so Austerlitz can continue to gracefully grow Kept the town web site current with weekly updates of minutes and a calendar of meetings Purchased a radar trailer to educate drivers on their speeds, especially in the hamlets Share services with adjacent towns: Assessor, Code Enforcement, Summer Recreation, Highway Upgraded the Town parks with new play equipment and are now upgrading parking, etc with a grant from the Ellsworth Kelly Fund Support all Town organizations in their endeavors: the Academy, the Austerlitz Historical Society, Tower Club, St. Peter’s Church, the Austerlitz and Spencertown Fire Companies Maintain our Town Green , the Tower Club Fountain, Veterans’ monuments, and host the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony Support our Veterans with a Memorial Day Ceremony As a Supervisor: I convinced the County to repave County 7 and County 5 and replace Upper Hollow Bridge and the Dugway Platt Bridge Supported Columbia County’s 0% budget increase for the last 4 years with no county layoffs Served on the Economic Development Committee to bring in new businesses to provide new jobs in the private sector and in agriculture
