VOTER ID GERRYMANDERING? Let me begin by saying that even as a liberal, I fully support the idea of requiring Photo ID in order to vote. In this world there are things which should require you to present proof that you are who you say you are, and I too think that voting is one of them. That being said, I was kind of taken aback when I read an article today about the courts allowing Texas to use their new Voter ID law in the upcoming mid-terms. Heres an excerpt: The law sets out seven forms of approved ID — a list that includes concealed handgun licenses but not college student IDs, which are accepted in other states with similar measures. It would seem to me that a Gun Totin Texan is a somewhat different demographic than a (potentially) liberal college student. WHY THE DISCRIMINATION AGAINST COLLEGE STUDENT VOTERS?
