VOUR: TULLOW OIL WALKS AWAY WITH $ 313 MILLIONS WHILE M7 POCKETS $143 MILLIONS AND SPENDS MILLIONS OF $$$ ON THE CASE! Tullow oil company has won the tax case against Ugandan government. Uganda tax payers must pay Tullow oil company a whopping $313 millions that Tullow alleges was paid to the Ugandan government. Not only Ugandan tax payers must cough up the money but also spent $45 millions to British law farms that represented Uganda in UK courts. According to the agreement signed between Tullow and Uganda government, all cases against Tullow must be settled by UK courts although Uganda has the oil and also has the courts. M7 was given $70 million in order to drop the case for a settlement. While addressing the nation M7 attacked the rebel MPs for interfering with oil industry while they have zero experience in oil production. He wnt on to say that he admits that he has more experience in cows than oil, but wen it comes to settling the case he walked away with a cool $70 millions. M7 has been hush on NGOs that have been monitoring Uganda oil production, because he did not want them to reveal much information to the general public. Many foreign investors have pulled out of Uganda due to political instability currently gripping the nation. On this M7 has accused foreign countries on causing the instabilities by funding opposition leaders. He went on to accuse foreign countries to forcing his government to adopt inapplicable policies that will cause political unrest and help oil companies exploit the country during times of total breakdown of rule of law. This shows the desperate nature of Alert International-Uganda and its allies continued frustration of Uganda’s social economic policies when citizens are requesting for employment opportunities, service delivery in schools and health centers, infrastructural development, markets for their goods and services, salaries etc. All these can be developed through investments but if Alert and its allies are frustrating development then they are doing the country a de-service. Several political analysts are arguing the government to de-register CSOs and NGOs that are involved in political bickering and economic sabotage to fail elected legitimate governments in African countries. M7 has pointed a finger to anyone whom he feels that he is a threat to his hold on to power. Break down of the rule of law is encouraged non other than M7 himself as recently he defied the court order to vacate Monitor and Red Paper premises. MPs Theodore Ssekikubo, Wilfred Nuwagaba and Abdu Katuntu were singled out for personal mention and attack in the two-hour presidential address. “What they are doing is an unforgivable sin. It is sacrilege. To stand here and use the forum of Parliament which I created for you, through sacrificing blood, is unacceptable” Mr. Museveni said of the small group of MPs who had voted against the government’s proposals for structuring and regulating the oil industry. Especial venom was directed at Hon. Ssekikubo, an NRM member and chair of the Parliamentary Forum on Oil and Gas. “He was around when Kony was murdering, maiming and looting Ugandans. What did this young actor do to help Ugandans? I did not see Ssekikubo help us,” the president said. Zac Niringye, a retired bishop in the Church of Uganda’s Kampala diocese, also attracted the presidential wrath. “I did not hear his efforts in defence of Ugandans who were being slaughtered during the bad past regimes. He was found wanting at the crucial hour,” the head of state claimed. Every time M7 is challenged he goes on to tell Ugandans how he single handedly brought them peace, time has come to demand his exit.
